There are numerous top links courses a short distance from Caddyshacks. These include Gullane No 1, Muirfield, The Renaissance Club, and North Berwick West Links. Gullane is also known for its award-winning beach, fantastic range of restaurants and shops. There are many other incredible attractions nearby for foodies, beach bums, history buffs, naturalists, and adventure seekers.

ACCOMODATION

Caddyshacks Gullane is a large four-bedroom apartment located in the heart of the village, steps away from all of the main attractions. The space was completely updated in July 2022 and finished to a high standard. Modern open plan kitchen / dining room with high quality cabinetry, quartz surfaces, large fridge freezer, and a custom made dining table for 8. The sitting area has a classic aniline leather Chesterfield sofa set and a large TV with Sky Sports. All bedrooms have two beds with luxurious Hypnos Wool origins 8 mattresses for a good nights sleep. All bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom. The property also has a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, sink and storage. The large u-shaped hallway with bench and hanging area and a dedicated built in golf club storage area. Curated collection of local art and historical golf items to enjoy.

THE GOLF

Caddyshacks is located steps away from the children’s golf course which is free to play. A few more steps and you’ll arrive at the Gullane Links Clubhouse (completed in 2021) and top-class practice facility (completed in 2020). This is the launchpad for all three Gullane courses.

Scotland's Golf Coast

East Lothian and particularly Gullane is a mecca for golf and welcomes many visitors from around the world each year. Muirfield and North Berwick West Links are ranked in the top 100 golf courses in the world, and there are 10 courses within 5 miles of Caddyshacks ranked in Scotland’s top 100.

Golf has been played on the land around Gullane for centuries. Musselburgh Links and North Berwick West Links are East Lothians oldest examples. It is home to some of the earliest golf clubs in the world including The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, founded at Muirfield in 1744. There are also great modern courses like Archerfield Links (2004) and The Renaissance Club (2008). 

Championship Golf

Muirfield has hosted the Men’s Open Championship 16 times, and the Ladies Open Championship for the first time in 2022.  The Scottish Open which is a European PGA tour event has been held regularly in the Gullane area in recently years. There are also many high-profile international amateur competitions.

ATTRACTIONS

There are many things to do in Gullane, East Lothian. Caddyshacks is in a prime location amongst the village restaurants, pubs and coffee shops. A children’s golf course and tennis courts are close by. The award winning beach in Gullane is a 5 to 10 minute stroll. There are many more beaches, scenic areas, and historic sites along East Lothian’s rugged coast. It was on this coastline at Siccar Point where James Hutton made his geological discovery in 1788.  The Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick runs wildlife boat trips to see the famous Northern Gannet colony. Visit the birthplace of John Muir, the father of the National Parks, or the National Museum of Flight. Foxlake Adventures and East Links Family Park are also highly recommended for families with children
